AFKA Scotland with support from The Promise Partnership Fund are proud to launch our Staying Connected – supporting children and young people in transitions to permanence in Fostering, Kinship and Adoption in Scotland – Toolkit. The aim of the Toolkit is to assist Practitioners and Managers to be knowledgeable, skilled and confident in their practice, underpinned by current research and policy. Our hope is that children and young people moving to permanent families will have a more consistent experience across Scotland, supported by relationship based and trauma informed practice which listens and embeds the importance of Staying Connected within relationships that matter during transitions and beyond.
Within the toolkit you will find easily accessible training sessions that you can deliver with the workforce covering Key Principles in Transition and specific courses on Transitions to Fostering, Kinship and Adoption. There are additional Briefing Notes, Case Studies and Videos which can be used to guide practice and for group discussions, team meetings and individual supervision.
