Why choose AFKA?
AFKA Scotland is a leading provider of learning and development for all those working with care experienced children, young people and families in fostering, kinship care and adoption. We provide training that meets the needs of a range of practitioners, including core family placement skills, permanence, specialist courses and advanced skills through our postgraduate routes.
By supporting the continuing professional development of practitioners, AFKA Scotland training and events help agencies to comply with the requirements of the National Care Standards in relation to staff training and development.
In addition to training workshops and conferences, AFKA Scotland runs two postgraduate level courses, Securing Children’s Futures and Relative Matters, in conjunction with the University of Strathclyde. These courses are an excellent opportunity for more experienced social workers to develop the specialist skills and knowledge relevant to fostering, kinship and adoption work.
