Safer Caring in Fostering

5 February 2025 at 9:45 am to 1:00 pm

This workshop will help participants to realise The Promise’s ambition that children stay where they feel loved and safe and receive the support they need to thrive. A robust safer caring approach can ensure children and young people’s needs remain central to providing a safe and loving home. AFKA Scotland are delighted to have secured the rights to deliver training on a new updated approach to safer caring.

Developing a family safer caring plan’ is an eBook written by Paul Adams, an independent trainer, formerly from CoramBAAF. The book is designed to help social workers and carers complete and update high quality family safer caring plans. The book emphasises the importance of creating plans that are individualised and risk- sensitive and contains a number of real-life examples. The materials are also relevant to pre adoptive arrangements. Practitioners attending this workshop will receive a copy of the eBook and the accompanying Form FCSP for their agency’s use.
