An Introduction to Assessing Foster Carers and Adopters

1 May 2025 at 9:45 am to 2:00 pm
£99

The Promise tells us that if children are removed from their families, the focus of their care must be on ‘building childhoods that are underpinned by loving relationships, fun, play education and opportunity’. Practitioners who are involved in assessing prospective adopters and foster carers have a key role in helping achieve these outcomes for children who cannot live with their birth families.

This workshop will provide practitioners who may be new to undertaking family placement assessments with the opportunity to increase their confidence in assessing applicants who wish to become foster carers or adopters. It will support the development of knowledge and best practice in the assessment process as well as consider tools that can support making good assessments.
