Supporting the Workforce: Learning for Newly Qualified Social Workers

Block of 6 sessions, run over a 10 week period from 9.00am–11.30am;  August – November 2023 – participants should attend each session.

AFKA Scotland has developed a new model of online training to support newly qualified social workers and those newer to Children and Families social work to evidence learning in their supported year and to develop their knowledge of Social Work Practice and the legislative and policy landscape in which they undertake their duties.

These online sessions will support newly qualified social workers and those newer to Children and Families social work to evidence learning in their supported year and to develop their knowledge of Social Work Practice and the legislative and policy landscape in which they undertake their duties. Social Workers will be evidence informed by information on the professional and academic research that underpins our work and including the voice of care experience.  They will look at the complexities faced by Social Workers in their roles and help them to explore supportive solutions in the context of relationship-based practice.  AFKA is committed to keeping the child at the centre of decision-making and upholding the rights of the child.
